Laboratory services
Did you know that you can choose to have your lab tests performed at CHI St. Francis Health? Professional laboratory staff perform 98% of all diagnostic and medical tests ordered by area physicians at our Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-certified hospital lab. Routine and emergency lab work is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week using state-of-the-art instrumentation. The laboratory is available for inpatient and emergency care, but it's also a convenient place for people who live in the community to have tests. If you have a physician's order, visit the lab Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No appointment necessary. |

The Laboratory Department at St. Francis also offers Direct Lab Access for a limited number of tests without physician orders. Call 218-643-0259 for more information.
Having tests performed close to home is especially convenient for those who need regular lab tests, such as people who take blood thinners or who are undergoing chemotherapy. Even though the lab conducts the most common tests, occasionally a patient will come in for a test that isn't offered at St. Francis. In that situation, the lab can collect a specimen and have it sent to another facility for testing.
The next time you need lab tests, ask your provider about having them done at St. Francis. |
